Breaking: Former FSU commit Justin Nunn has entered the transfer portal once again, hoping to finally find stability in his college football journey. A talented quarterback/tight end hybrid, Nunn has been through a long and difficult road filled with obstacles—but also triumphs.
Initially recruited by Jimbo Fisher’s FSU staff in 2017, Nunn was unable to qualify academically and took the JUCO path to keep his football dreams alive. However, tragedy struck in his first semester when he was involved in a fatal car accident that left him with injuries and derailed his early career.
Determined to push forward, Nunn transferred to a smaller JUCO after his first program in Mississippi parted ways with him due to his health concerns. Despite playing limited snaps due to his lingering injuries, he helped his team win a state championship at North Florida. Unfortunately, that program folded due to financial struggles, forcing him to transfer yet again—this time to Birmingham JC.
At Birmingham, Nunn was still not fully recovered, but his resilience shined through. He played limited snaps but contributed to a national championship-winning team. After that victory, he earned an opportunity at UCF in 2019. However, a mistake with his transfer credits left him ineligible to play, and his career was once again put on hold.
In 2021, he attempted to restart his career at VUL, but COVID-related issues caused chaos within the institution. The school lacked adequate staff, which led to problems with class scheduling, finances, and even the availability of textbooks. These setbacks prevented him from taking the field.
Later that season, he was able to enroll at MDA JUCO, where he finally returned to form. Playing both quarterback and tight end, he led his team to a conference championship and a quarterfinal victory. His performance caught the attention of Alabama A&M’s defensive coordinator, Kienus Boulware, who had recruited him in JUCO, leading to his transfer to Alabama A&M in 2023.
Now, with four years of eligibility remaining and immediate eligibility waivers in place, Nunn is looking for a fresh start. He has proven his resilience, athleticism, and leadership time and time again.
Which program will take a chance on this battle-tested athlete?
